Monday 28th of April will go down in history as an epic battle of wisdom versus knowledge in which only the brightest and the best prevailed. Which might explain why the team I was on failed to win!?
This is the second quiz fundraiser Shasha Khan has held to raise money for the legal challenge against the South London Incinerator and it was just as successful as the last one.Teams from across the borough competed for prizes kindly donated by the local Cronx Brewery and by Lush. There was a raffle and a great spread of food put on by The Oval Tavern.
A big thank you must go out to Chris the quizmaster, Elizabeth the money taker, Tracey the raffle prize donator and Esther the publican for their help in making the night possible.
Last but by no means least, thank you very much to all those who exercised their grey matter and helped raised £620 in the process.
Whilst Shasha has raised about £7,500 for the Judicial Review he still needs at least £10,000 to be able to pay the legal costs accrued so far and at least £17,000 if he has to pay the costs of the other side should the outcome not be favourable.
We urge you to keep spreading the word and to encourage people to help with this very important cause.
Stop the incinerator and lives will be saved.
